Songs in the key of strife
Rapper. Troubadour. Wordsmith. Storyteller. Sage. Many words describe the art of the man Dizraeli, a performer whose own words invariably resonate with concern for our times and solidarity with its people. A Bristol native, he’s also a restless traveller (with acoustic guitar fitted as standard), keen to engage and entertain wherever he goes, from festival stage to refugee camp. For him, it’s all about humanising the issues, stripping things down to a micro level, making life a personal experience. “Let’s just be in this world we’re living in,” he once declared, “rather than strapped to our little screens, communicating with each other via chat and messenger.” In a world of spin, where the best we can usually expect is a half-truth, the wise words of Dizraeli cut through it all.
