We can’t wait for you to join us at Charlton Park in 2016. The site is in the Wiltshire countryside and easy to get to – below are a few different travel options for you. WOMAD 2016 weekend tickets are valid from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July. If you want to start your WOMAD weekend early you will need to buy a ticket for Thursday 28th July.

Thursday ticket holders can arrive from 8am on Thursday and the arena opens at 2pm*

Weekend ticket holders can arrive from 8am on Friday and the arena opens at 10am*

All ticket holders must have left the site by midday on Monday

By Road

Charlton Park is situated just off the A429 between Cirencester and Chippenham, close to Malmesbury. The site is 7 miles from Junction 17 off the M4, approximately 100 miles from London, 80 miles from Birmingham, and less than 30 miles away from Bath, Bristol and Swindon. Please follow the yellow AA signs for WOMAD. If using Satnav please use SN16 9LL as the postcode.

From the North Exit M5 J11a, take first exit A417 towards Cirencester. Before Cirencester take A429southbound towards Malmesbury. Turn left onto B4040, follow signs into the festival.

From the West Exit M4 J17, take A429 north towards Cirencester. Turn right onto B4040, follow signs into the festival.

From the East Exit M4 J17, take A429 northbound signposted Malmesbury. Turn right onto B4040,travel for around half a mile and follow signs into the festival.

From the South Take A350 northbound towards Chippenham. At the M4 J17 roundabout, take secondexit A429 northbound towards Malmesbury. After Malmesbury turn right onto the B4040, travel foraround half a mile and follow signs into the festival.

Electric car charging:

Ecotricity’s electric vehicle electricity pump at Membury services is the nearest charging point to Charlton Park. Their Electric Highway now covers almost the entire motorway network in Britainso check their map and and whether their pumps are online before you set off.

By Bike

Anyone cycling to the festival can leave their bicycle securely in the Campers Lock-Up in the Customer Care Centre. There is a charge of £1 per item for this service. PLEASE bring your own bike locks.

By Rail

Travel by train is another easy option, with the local station at Chippenham offering a frequent service and our bus running to and from the station.


All drop-offs and pick-ups must be made at the Garden Centre just outside the festival site.

Accommodation outside the festival

Please go to for further information on the area and accommodation available. By Coach and train and bus we will run a coach service from London Victoria and a shuttle bus from Chippenham station and from Malmesbury. Please check back nearer the time for prices and timetables.
