Thank you WOMADers for another amazing year

What an incredible weekend! Over 36,000 of you joined us in rural Wiltshire to enjoy more than 200 performances by 90 artists from 49 countries.  Thank you to everyone who took part to make it such an incredible experience.

Festival director Chris Smith summed up this year perfectly:

“This year’s festival captured perfectly what WOMAD is all about; bringing the world together through all kinds of music, culture, activities and cuisine and celebrating the universal joy that all of these things can bring. In times when we seemingly hear about nothing but division and strife in the world it’s really heart-warming to witness all of these amazing performers, artists, scientists, gourmands and festivalgoers really engaged with one another.”

We’re already excited for next year – the WOMAD 2017 dates for your diary are:

Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th July 2017

Here are some highlights from the Saturday. For more videos click here.

Every year we always have a lot of positive feedback on how clean the festival is. This year was no exception with a site that looked spotless whatever time of day it was. Impressively we have also been told that there was not one tent left after the festival had finished. Thank you so much for being such a conscientious audience!

If anyone has lost anything at the festival we do have a lost property. Please email lostproperty@womad.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
