Taste Sensations at WOMAD 2016

WOMAD is a foodie heaven with every imaginable type of food on offer. There is everything from Bao Buns, better known as Taiwanese burgers, to Ethiopian beef stew, and Goan fish curry, Tibetan momo dumplings to authentic American Pit smoked Pulled pork and Jerklicious chicken, so  foodies and festival-goers have the chance to discover and eat their way around the world in just one weekend.

The feasts are paired with a huge range of bars, cafes and drinks vendors to quench your thirst; cold-pressed juices, artisan coffees, Cambodian Chai tea to ‘ThaiAngle Tonic’ made with mint, lemongrass, lime and pineapple juice, to organic smoothies and refreshing slushies to craft beers and real ale. New for 2016 festival goers will be able to enjoy delicious Yalumba wines available in all the bars across the site, a new cocktail den and WOMAD’s first pub; The Golden Lion which has its very own beer garden.

Yalumba will be offering exclusive wine tasting sessions and talks to compliment the incredible food on offer, with winery brand ambassadors giving festival goers an insight into the craft of winemaking and creating a wine that is 100% vegan and vegetarian friendly, making it the ethical choice.

The Taste the World stage is truly unique to WOMAD, were artists combine their cooking skills with musical interludes and intimate personal anecdotes, in a delectable love letter to their home country. Malian all female super group Les Amazones d’Afrique, Cameroonian soul king Blick Bassy and the Romanian folk band ZMEI3 are amongst those donning their aprons to showcase their native culinary delights.

Not wanting to miss out on any of the foodie action, the nation’s favourite Hairy Bikers will be joining the party at WOMAD this year, on a mission to find the world’s tastiest chicken and egg dishes. Fresh from their world tour exploring the culinary favourites of various countries, the boys have visited France, Morocco, the USA and Israel, with their final destination being the Taste the World Stage at WOMAD, where they will be sharing food, stories and music from their travels. Accompanied by the fantastic Abass Dodoo on drums, Dave and Si promise to take audiences on a hilarious, entertaining and delicious journey around the world.
