Police Statement:
The unlawful supply or illegal drug use is not condoned by WOMAD. Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on site as anywhere else in the country. Security officers will be on site and will deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines. If you engage in the unlawful supply of drugs, it is likely that you will be arrested. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour will be tolerated and participants will leave themselves liable to eviction from the site.
Experimenting with drugs can lead to adverse reactions. The crowds and sheer size of the festival can be very frightening and disorientating. If you do take drugs and you become ill, depressed or frightened, please ask a steward to direct you to one of the many facilities on site which can help and support you.
There will be a number of drinking water points available in the arena. We advise you bring an empty plastic bottle that you can refill over the weekend.

No sound systems or amplified music allowed on the festival site. Those who disregard this regulation will have their equipment confiscated. Drumming: we know that drumming is part of the entertainment at a WOMAD Festival but PLEASE do not drum in the campsite between 8pm and 8am. We have more complaints from campers and local residents about drumming than any other issue. Please take this seriously - our licence depends on it. We reserve the right to ask persistent drummers to leave the festival site.
Between 24-29 July 2013.
