Guidelines for Camping - From Car Park to Camping Spot

In common with all other major festivals and in order to comply with Health and Safety regulations, cars and tents will be separated. However, the campsite layout is designed specifically so that you should be able to park within a reasonable distance of your camping spot, but please bear in mind that the actual distance cannot be absolutely guaranteed.

Be considerate with space

Please be considerate when pitching your tent. We receive many complaints about groups of campers who deliberately arrange their tents, gazebos and wind-breaks to take up the maximum possible amount of space for their own group. Please bear in mind that if people pitch inconsiderately then space for others is severely restricted.

Toilets

There are plenty of toilets on site, all emptied and cleaned regularly over the weekend by a dedicated hygiene team.

Showers

There will be a 48-head hot shower unit, which will be attended to regularly by a dedicated hygiene team. We are asking people to use eco-friendly products at the festival to protect the local wildlife and ecosystems.

Water

There will be plenty of drinking water points on the campsite, each with a cluster of taps. We recommend that you bring supplies of bottled drinking water with you for convenience.

Power

There are no power points available in the main camping areas or the Campervan field.

Fires

Because of the risk of fires spreading out of control, OPEN FIRES ARE BANNED everywhere on site. Please familiarise yourself with Fire Exits and Fire Towers.

Noise

No sound systems or amplified music allowed on site. Those who disregard this regulation will have their equipment confiscated. Drumming: We know this is a WOMAD festival where drumming is part of the entertainment but please do not drum on the campsite between 8pm and 8am. We have more complaints from campers and local residents about drumming than any other issue. Please take this seriously, our licence depends on it. We reserve the right to ask persistent drummers to leave the festival site.

Crime Prevention Advice

We recommend you follow the Police Safety advice at WOMAD 2011.

Campers Lock-Up

This is the place to leave any valuables that you don't want to leave in your tent or car or carry around. Please check with Lock-Up staff or at the Info Tent for opening times. Items can be left or collected between these times only. Mark items with your telephone number/postcode/house number if possible.
