High bpm dance music – on brass!

There’s a real value in taking your music to the streets, in singing for your supper. Those musical acts who’ve learned their trade and earned their stripes as buskers usually have a sound and stagecraft as tight and honed as can be by the time they graduate to proper venues – see here former buskers Seasick Steve and Rodrigo y Gabriela. Add to them the New York City trio Too Many Zooz who plied their early trade in the city’s subway stations, especially Union Square in Lower Manhattan. And their trade is a unique one, what they call ‘brass-house’. Armed with drums, trumpet and that big old baritone sax, they create high-tempo electronic dance music, but without the electronics. Theirs is an astonishing, blood-rushing experience that has taken them from subway city to the heights of backing Beyoncé. Now it’s Wiltshire’s turn. Enjoy!
