Portico Quartet UK
A unique blend of jazz, electronica, ambient textures and cinematic minimalism
Over the course of the last decade and four singular albums, the Portico Quartet have made it impossible to pin down their unique blend of jazz, electronica, ambient textures and cinematic minimalism.
Their 2007 debut Knee-Deep In The North Sea was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize and Real World has just released their latest album, Art In The Age Of Automation. It finds them continuing to push at the boundaries, mixing Jack Wylie’s ethereal saxophone, Duncan Bellamy’s unique combination of live and electronic drums and the band’s signature sound, the chiming, otherworldly tones of the hang drum.http://porticoquartet.com
