Opposing shades and left field rhythms which showcased his lavish skills as a guitarist and a cosmopolitan songwriter
After studying music in Cuba, graduating in ethnomusicology from the University of London and touring the world with post-jazz collective Portico Quartet, Nick Mulvey announced himself as a solo artist of a singular kind with 2014’s First Mind. Shirking the conventional and side-stepping the expected, it was a record of opposing shades and left field rhythms which showcased his lavish skills as a guitarist and a cosmopolitan songwriter and earned a place on the Mercury Prize shortlist. His second solo album is imminent and the lead track, “Unconditional” suggests it’s going to be every bit as unique and exciting as his debut.

Nick will be unpacking his song-writing process and explaining the musical journey behind his latest album in a session entitled In Conversation.
