Hannah Peel & Tubular Brass
A unique retooling of Mike Oldfield’s iconic 1973 album Tubular Bells.
Northern Irish electronic artist Hannah Peel teams up with Tubular Brass, a 28-piece band featuring some of the UK’s finest players, to present a unique retooling of Mike Oldfield’s iconic 1973 album Tubular Bells.
The work is scored by acclaimed conductor Sandy Smith, whose credits included orchestrating the brass in the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. They will also perform Peel’s composition Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia, a “journey through space, time and mortality” told through the eyes of 86-year-old Mary Casio and her stargazing dream to leave her South Yorkshire home and see the cosmos. With specially commissioned audio visuals by Daniel Conway.
