A richly textured blend of classical, global and contemporary influences with vibrant tribal rhythms
Working under the name Anchorsong, Masaaki Yoshida’s unique concert performances in which he creates electronic compositions ‘live’ using a sampler and keyboard have been described as “like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas”.
After playing guitar in Japanese rock bands, he relocated to Europe in 2007 and his solo debut album appeared four years later. His second album Ceremonial was voted one of the top five release of 2016 by BBC 6 Music.
Describing himself as a “modern traditionalist”, expect a richly textured blend of classical, global and contemporary influences with vibrant tribal rhythms seamlessly underpinning cutting-edge electronic wizardry.http://anchorsong.com
